by Judy, Chorister for the Conference Devotional
Note: We are delighted to announce that Judy, from the Bay Area, will be the chorister for the devotional to be held in the Kirtland Temple on September 18. This message includes an invitation to be part of the Affirmation Kirtland choir. Please contact Judy by August 30.
My dear sisters, brothers, and allies of Affirmation, I am so excited about the conference in September and feel very honored to have the opportunity to coordinate and lead the music for the devotional at the Kirtland Temple on Sunday. We are also (for those interested), sharing testimonies and spiritual experiences on Sunday morning before the devotional, also in the Temple. I can’t explain in words how full my heart was when I heard this news. Your spirits and your love are a great gift.
This opportunity brings back to mind BYU, singing in Concert Choir with Mack Wilberg, taking conducting from him and Ron Staheli, and directing our stake choir of 100 voices with our stake orchestra. Those were great musical and spiritual experiences!
I look forward to having a similar experience in the Kirtland Temple at our devotional. I am going to do everything I can to make sure this is wonderful for all of us.
I hope that there will be more of us in the choir lofts than on the floor and that all of you who even remotely want to participate in the choir will do it! We can also possibly use some instruments for the music.
If you are interested in participating, please send me an email ASAP, so I can finalize the arrangements that will be right for us. Please send your name, email, phone number, whether you want to sing or play an instrument or both/either, and what part you sing and/or instrument you play. If you’re not sure what part you sing, you can let me know that too. “I sing high” or “low” will help! If you have friends or family members attending the conference who would also like to participate in the music, please let me know and send their contact information and part as well.
Love, your sister,
Judy
